Wirrabirra Early Learning Centre

Welcome to Wirrabirra Childcare & Early Learning Centre! Our passionate educators are committed to providing a stimulating and nurturing environment where children can develop their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive skills.

At Wirrabirra, we understand that every child is unique. Our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of each child, with our educators assessing their knowledge, strengths, abilities, interests, and culture. This allows us to create age-appropriate, engaging learning experiences. Our team is well-versed in the Early Years Learning Framework and child development theories, ensuring programs incorporate play-based learning, intentional teaching, group and individual activities, and self-directed play.

The Wirrabirra Philosophy

  • Wirrabirra strives to provide the highest standard of care and education in a secure and trusting environment in which children feel a sense of belonging. We support children to form positive relationships with peers, educators, and environments, while recognising their existing relationships with their family and community. We prioritise building strong partnerships with our families to extend on home experiences and meet individual family needs and beliefs, supporting each child’s growth and development. We believe that children learn best through a play-based program, when they are interested in what they are doing, having fun, can experiment and watch others.
  • We provide a safe, secure, and stimulating enviroments that support children to become independent, confident, and inquisitive learners which will encourage children to extend their capacity for learning and development.
  • We provide a warm and inclusive environment that promotes diversity and complements that child’s home life, and where all families have the opportunity to contribute to their child’s learning and development.
  • We continuously develop our professional knowledge and skills to meet the current philosophies, theories and standards on early childhood learning and development.
  • We are guilded by the princiles identified by the National Qaulity Standards and we abide by the Australian Code of Ethics to and provide every child with their fundamental rights to be protected, kept safe and ensure the dignity and rights of the child are maintained at all times.
  • The main theorist linked to our programmes are Lev Vygotsky using (ZPD) social cultural theory. Abraham Maslow hierarchyof child’s needs. Urie Bronfenbrenner-Ecological theory and Jean Piget cognitive development
  • Philosophy is developed in consultation with families, management, early childhood educators and child development theories/theorists combined.
